Events

Rummage Sale.  Every autumn, Central Unitarian Church members organize a two-day rummage sale that raises money for our congregation's operations while providing a valuable service to low-income families in our community.

Outreach Auction.  Each year, CUC holds an evening auction event that raises money for local charities providing basic life needs to people in local communities.

Spring Fling.  Every spring, it's party time at CUC, when our Spring Fling fundraiser brings together members for an evening of fine food and drink, and the auctioning of social events and service items to help fund our congregation's work.

Community Service

Center for Food Action.  CUC supports local food pantries by collecting and contributing food on a monthly basis for the nonprofit Center For Food Action.

Action Against Homelessness.  CUC offers members three ways to take action against homelessness in our region: InterReligious Fellowship for the Homeless, St. Ceceila's Family Shelter in Englewood, and the Overflow Homeless Shelter Program here at CUC. For more information, click on the Homelessness link on the right.

Friday Night Films.  The CUC Social Justice Committee holds a Film Series at 7:30 pm on the third Friday of each month from September to June in the Assembly Room.  Admission is free. Come for the film, stay for the discussion.

Groups

David-Cryer-Sings-FrostVall.gifCovenant Circles.  Covenant Circles, also known as Small Group Ministry, offer a way for us to minister to one another and create a more spiritually-connected religious community.

Meditation Group.  Meeting on the last Wednesday of each month, the Meditation group focuses on and provides practice in many forms of meditation, such as guided, silent, walking and others.

Awards

Kathryn Miller Award.  The Kathryn Miller Award is presented every other year to a woman who has made outstanding contributions to women’s and family issues in Bergen County.

Batson Award.  Each year, CUC's Endowment Committee selects a graduating member of CUC's religious education program to receive the Batson Award in recognition of academic achievement and activism in social and community issues.
