UUA General Assembly Focuses on Immigration, Peacemaking (posted Sunday, July 11, 2010)
The 2010 General Assembly of the Unitarian Universalist Association, held in Minneapolis from June 23 to June 27 of this year, made important decisions on policy and practice for the denomination. Through democratic process, the denomination decided to retain Phoenix, Arizona as the site for its 2012 Assembly but make that event a “Justice Assembly” standing on the side of love for a fairer, more humane immigration policy.  The delegates also approved a Statement of Conscience on Creating Peace that was first proposed in 2006 and repeatedly revised since then.

On July 1, CUC welcomes Merrin Clough as its interim Director of Religious Education while the congregation searches for a full-time replacement for the outgoing Britt Cryer, who has served the congregation faithfully and well since 1986.  Read more

On August 1, Central Unitarian Church welcomes Rev. Dr. Matt Tittle as its new settled minister. Rev. Tittle will step into the leadership position that, for the past two years, has been filled by Interim Minister Rev. Carlton Elliott Smith.   read more...
