Every autumn since 1929, Central Unitarian Church members have organized a rummage sale that raises money for our congregation's operations while providing a valuable service to low-income families in our community. This year’s sale hours are as follows: October 21, 9 am–8 pm; October 22, 9 am–6 pm, and October 23, 9 am–1 pm).
Most of the congregation is involved during the third full week of October (or in earlier planning stages) in some aspect of the event: organizing, publicity, converting our sanctuary into a fully operational salesroom, sorting and pricing the thousands of items contributed, running the sale itself, feeding the hard-working volunteers, directing traffic, and cleaning up afterward in time to restore our sanctuary for the Sunday morning service the next day.
